A Closer Look: Air Jordan XIV "Graphites"

With the fall season under way Brand Jordan is releasing darker versions from it's signature line. Here we have the Air Jordan XIV in graphite nubuck, black midsole, and white outsoles. There are also hints of navy accents. It's a new lifestyle color of the re-released retro. Be sure to pick these up Saturday, October 8th.

Release Reminder

While other "HypeBeast" sites continue to blog about another mediocre Lebron 9 colorway, we at NIB know that our readers are diverse sneaker collectors. So make sure you pick up the ASICS Gel Lyte III "Salmon Toe". They are slated to release tomorrow. Box price is $130.

Inventory Teaser

Yesterday a local Sneakerhead dropped off some heat that he wanted to consign with NIB. I took a sneak peek and this guy has got some major heat. Of course we can't display them until April, when both the online and physical store open. However, I did take some detailed pics of the boxes they came in. If you're an OG collector you can tell where the heat is located. Also, we will officially begin accepting inventory February 1st, but if you want to consign sooner contact us at NIBkicks@yahoo.com. Remember, Deadstocks and Very near Deadstocks only, no beaters.

Boredom

I'm an avid blog reader (mostly sneaker blogs), but this week was a quiet week for sneaker news and updates. This week introduced the China Lebron 9's and the already notorious Jordan Charity lV's. However, it still seems as if the game is missing something. I guess that's what happens when we spend two weeks blogging about Nike Air Mags......

Stop It!!!!

One of my favorite pastimes is to cruise the local Craigslist ads. Oh no, not for what you're thinking, I'm happily married, but I visit the site for the sneaker ads. Today I clicked on a post that had these for sale. Any takers? What would the nickname be for these, "Ray Allen" IX's?

Reminder

We've noticed the love we're getting from some of you and we want to say thanks for the comments, likes, and followers online. Once again our goal as a consignment store is to create a secure way to purchase and sell sneakers. Whether you choose to do it online or in person, NIB eliminates the insecurity of purchasing from a stranger. But let's face it, we all have one thing in common and that's our love for sneakers. No matter what the brand is, DS, or VNDS (sorry we won't accept beaters). We're still establishing our online presence, and our logo shirts will be arriving soon. Doors open next April, pass the word along!!!!!

Eddie Jones "Pro Quick" Spring 2012

One of my all time favorite and most underrated "Jumpmans" are slated to release Spring of 2012. The Air Jordan Pro Quick, a.k.a "Eddie Jones". These aren't actual pics of the 2012 retro, however I hope they keep them true to retro design. I plan on double copping these.

Hmmm....

Today pictures of the Air Jordan DB Charity IV hit the internet. Following the release of the DB edition V, this version of the Retro IV includes sport blue contrast stitching, black nubuck with laser print, lime green midsole, and a icy outsole. But, why the "Man of Steel" logo on the tongue? We at NIB are trying to figure that out. However, we're excited to see these on our shelves come next spring.

"CAN I GETTA ENCORE?"

When it comes to sneaker releases, retro designs receive more attention than their current counterparts. With constant reviews and increased asking prices, sneaker brands know that collectors will pay top dollar for nostalgia. However, too much of a good thing can decrease their value. In the near future we'll see the return of Air Jordan "Last Shot" XIV, "Taxi" XII, and "Military Blue" IV. Even though these are all respected releases, we at NIB think we know what the shoe game is missing. So here's our list of "Jays" that deserve their resurrection.

1) Black/Royal I
2) Mocha III
3) Columbia IV
4) Maroon VI
5) Sacramento X
6) Columbia XI
7) Indaglow XIV

CLASSIFIED KICKS

For the past few years Sacramento Craigslist has been the "life line" for local sneakerheads like us at NIB. Unlike eBAY auctions, it allows buyers and sellers a more personal approach to doing business. Advertisment is free, and you can include a contact number. However, the challenges often outweigh the benefits. Besides the fear of B-grades and variants, many locals advertise DS that are actually VNDS. Some will ignore offers or refuse to include a picture. And that's just the buyer's point of view. As a reseller, many responses include low-ball prices. And let's not forget the "sketchy" meet up spots! Bringing a buddy is great, but if someone's going to rob you-they're going to rob you. Thank you Sac CL, but it's time for a consignment store in SacTown.

Sacramento gets "House Of Hoops"

Being a "Sneaker Head" isn't easy, especially if you're a serious collector. And it can be even harder if you reside in a smaller market. With retailers catering to big cities like New York and Los Angeles, it's refreshing to see a small city like Sacramento, Ca. get a little love. Recently a fellow sneaker collector informed me that one of our local Foot Lockers would upgrade to a House of Hoops. After my heart rate came back down, I began to realize the benefits this would allow. Now local collectors will have a greater chance at PE, BIN, and DB charity series. With this addition and NIB opening next April, it's looking good for our local market.

New Month New goals

As the summer comes to an end, we at NIB are just beginning. We're putting the final touches on the legal side of business owning, while establishing our name in the shoe game. In the next few weeks NIB will drop it's signature logo tee. Stay tuned for more updates and news.
